The essential elements of the development comprise*:
- 675 new homes
- A commercial centre including retail and flexible use floorspace
- Two Form entry primary school
- Rugby club house/community building with pitches
- Public open space, including allotments
- A new Spine Road linking Chestnut Street and Borden Lane with new roundabout accesses

Barratt David Wilson Homes will be bringing forward the residential element including the open spaces and associated roads.
The planning permission on site permitted in full the first phase of development (Phase 1a for 80 homes). This means the design and appearance of this phase is agreed. Barratt David Wilson Homes is therefore now looking to bring this first phase of development forward and is expected to start on site in the second quarter of 2022.
The balance of the development (595 homes) and associated infrastructure will be coming forward in phases. With the detail of these to come forward in future submissions to Swale Borough Council.
These future applications will be seeking approval for the arrangement, layout and appearance of the development.
This website is a place for local residents and stakeholders to receive up to date information on the progress of the development as it happens. There is also a dedicated consultations page which will be updated as future Reserved Matters applications are prepared for the residential phases. This will provide the opportunity to comment on the proposals prior to their submission.
BDW Kent are having regular meetings with representatives of the Parish Council and Local Planning Authority as the development progresses.
